[Closed] log file left behind in portable drive's root

skroslak - November 1, 2011 - 5:35am

hi guys,

did you ever noticed that there is a log file log.txt always created when filezilla operates? it is left behind when filezilla closes in portable drive's root folder. ex. I have P:\portableApps\filezillaPortable. When I execute it, do something, close it, there is P:\log.txt file created. I like to have a log, but it should remain in app's folder, not in root..

cheers,
Sam

connection unreliable

ottosykora - December 21, 2010 - 6:31pm

Does someone has experience with current versions of filezilla when transferring large number of files?

I had to shift some server contents to other location. Ok , took the tool I was using frequently so far, the filezilla portable. But to my surprise the connection was very bad, many repetitions of files transmission, all taking time for ever etc.

Tried then the very old wsftp, and all was perfect, also tried the fireftp in the firefox and this went also fine.

Are any known issues or can the filezilla be somehow tweaked to work as it used to?

x2touch - November 23, 2010 - 11:40am

In the description of system requirements is given:
"System Requirements: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, Wine on Linux/UNIX"
Is the version 3.0.11.x the last, working with Windows 2000?

Regards

Problems with the character "$" in the folder paths

ax55's picture
ax55 - November 16, 2010 - 2:56pm

I installed FileZilla Portable and did not recognize the path of the setting. After several tests I found that was because in the path one directory have the character "$" and this is a problem for FileZilla related to environment variables that begin precisely with that character ($). I had to rename my directory and everything was normal. With other portable applications this problem never appeared.

I mention this in case someone experiences something similar and if possible fix in an upcoming release.

filezilla.exe infected with a Trojan.Agent!?!?

truthseeker's picture
truthseeker - April 30, 2010 - 8:55pm

I installed the latest version of malwarebytes anti-malware and updated the definitions.

It then ran it and it found a "Trojan.Agent" in:

PortableApps\FileZillaPortable\App\filezilla\filezilla.exe

Any possibility this is a legitimate infection?

Can someone else run malwarebytes anti-malware and tell me if their portablapps filezilla.exe is infected too?

Cheers.

Disabling Splash Screen?

garybiscuit - April 23, 2010 - 11:04am

Is there a way to disable the "FileZilla Portable" splash screen that pops up when you start FileZilla Portable? i.e. The one w/ the picture of the thumb drive in it.
