MemPad 3.21 Portable - Testers needed

Submitted by Zappa on July 10, 2007 - 5:52pm

I was looking around for a simple and portable text outliner, but didn't find anything that fitted my needs. I found MemPad, self-containing and small, but when started from PAM it writes it's *.ini anywhere in PAM's folder, but not in it's app folder. So I created a little portable launcher, based on Portable application template version 2.1 created by Karl Loncarek.
If anybody is interested in testing it, download it here.

Easy Theme Installer [Test 1] - NeoRame Read.

Submitted by Patrick Patience on July 9, 2007 - 1:09pm

This is an installer I've made for NeoRame, it's a simple modification of John's portable app installer, except it's for themes.

The installer is Copyright John T. Haller of PortableApps.com. I only modified it a bit.

The package includes a readme that tells you everything you need and need to do.

This installer can ONLY be used with theme released under the GPL License, which is included. Read the comment below as well.

Portable Apps Menu Mod Draggable Version * outdated *

Submitted by xrxca on July 9, 2007 - 5:39am

New version posted: Link
OK, so netroid9 is finished for the time being, I was going to send him these mods, so instead I've added them myself.
For now there is just one change, but it needs testing (especially by others with multiple monitors) and that is the menu can now be dragged around on screen, left click and drag anywhere that isn't an active control (button etc) and you can move the menu around the screen.

Make Nearly Any app portable!

Submitted by mczack26 on July 8, 2007 - 7:14am

Because of new emulators you could run linux in qemu and run any app that runs on this operating system, your other option is also react os
React OS
Qemu Puppy (Runs in windows)
Puppy Linux (for info)
Both of these have package managers that you can download softwere from but bear in mind that react OS at the time of writing is not a stable operating system however it works quite well!

New version available, topic locked.

OK, I lied. Big woop, wanna fight about it? Blum This will seriously be the last one though.

WinBoard Portable is the popular WinBoard chess game packaged in a portable format. WinBoard is a graphical frontend for the GNU Chess and XBoard chess engines and can load and save PGN formatted games. Plus, it leaves no personal information behind on the machine you run it on, so you can take your chess games wherever you go.

This release has been superseded by the final release:
https://portableapps.com/news/2007-07-09_-_virtual_magnifying_glass_port...

This is a followup to the 3.2.1 Pre-Release I did a while ago. Virtual Magnifying Glass allows you to take a customizable screen magnifier with you while you move between PCs. It's handy for folks with visual impairments as well as designers. Please give it a try and post back your results.

GIMP Portable 2.2.16 Pre-Release 1 (Testers Needed)

Final version released, topic locked:

This is just a minor GIMP update, but it's using the new installer script that calculates free space accurately and this is the first app with options (you can choose whether or not it uses translations) to do so, so I wanted to have folks give it a quick test before releasing.

In particular, try it out doing upgrades on nearly full drives that may be able to handle it with or without the translations included.
