Submitted by Merijn on April 29, 2007 - 9:03am

Hey guys. I just made this Windows Classic lookalike theme.
Screen: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3451/nieuwbitmapafbeeldingny8.png
Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/28541637/Windows_Classic_Theme.rar.html
You need WinRAR or 7-zip to extract it.
To make this your standard theme, extract to: Yourdrive:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\App\DefaultData\

Substitute Drives

I made this app when SmithTech mentioned something on substituting drives. When you run this handy little thing it will substitute or "clone" your current drive letter with another drive letter that you choose. For example, I always substitute for T, so whenever I download something, let say from uTorrent which needs a fixed drive letter, I can point it over to T, and it will be available 95+% of the time. It will have an icon on the system tray to remove the substitution and save your last used letter to a txt file.

Convey Portable .94b Release

Convey Portable v0.94b Portable Send To Manager

I created this little app to run when I insert my USB Drive. It basically takes a subfolder of application shortcuts on your portable drive and adds them to the current computer's Send To folder. For instance, if you like opening pdf files with Portable Sumatra instead of the Acrobat that is installed on the computer you're plugged into, you can just right-click the pdf file and choose Send To > Sumatra PDF Portable.

Tile World Portable [Test 1, revision 2]

Submitted by Patrick Patience on April 21, 2007 - 12:04am

Tile World is like the old game Chip's Challenge that was most commonly known as part of the Best of Windows Entertainment Pack. So, I ended up finding Tile World, a very good open source remake, so I decided to make it portable. It doesn't seem to leave any reg entries. So i just wrote a very simple launcher for it using John's launcher for Brutal Chess. There's still some things I'd like to add in if you see the To Do List.

Thunderbird Portable 2.0 Pre-Release 2 (Testers Needed)

I've just posted a pre-release of Thunderbird Portable 2.0. In addition to updating to the 2.0 final release, this new package also introduces a new installer. It's a simplified version of the PortableApps.com Installer I'd mentioned earlier customized for TBP. This new installer should work standalone as well as through the PortableApps.com Menu both the 1.0/1.0.1 release and the current 1.0.2 test releases. It should also properly upgrade an existing Thunderbird Portable 1.5 installation, though we're going to need to have more people test this to be sure.

TightVNC Portable

Submitted by Tatsh on April 18, 2007 - 11:14pm

This includes the viewer and the server, as separate NSIS .exes.

TightVNC stores registry entries in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL. Both .exes will save the current (if existant) entries and then store the ones in Data\settings folder. Then vice versa when the programs exit.

Perhaps the server is not very handy to most, but I would definitely prefer to not have IP addresses I connect to remain in the registry in whatever computer I decide to use.

FileZilla Portable 2.2.32 Pre-Release 2 (Testers Needed)

I've just posted a pre-release of FileZilla Portable 2.2.32. In addition to the usual update of FileZilla, this new release includes an updated launcher (hence the pre-release test). The launcher now stores your settings within the FileZillaPortable\Data\settings directory. On launch, it moves them to the FileZillaPortable\App\filezilla directory so FileZilla can use them. On exit, it moves them back. This way, it automatically works with PortableApps.com Backup without the extra hack that was doing it earlier.
