Toucan 1.1 Pre-Release 1 is now out. There are a number of new features in this release, these include:

-A major refactor of the main functions. Sync has been petty much rewritten from the ground up to make adding new features easier. Backup and Secure have also had some changes, however I have held off the refactor of the GUI until the next release of Toucan for time reasons.

-An incremental option has been added to backup. The first time it is used it will create a complete copy of the source, on subsequent backups it will only backup the changed files.

Hi PortableApps Users,

The other day I decided to create two themes for PortableApps MOD. One for my portable harddisk, WesternDigital Passport II 120GB and one for my USB-stick Apacer Steno. I hope you like them, I do Smile

Have Fun!

Replaced by newer release:
https://portableapps.com/node/8378

I've just posted a test release of Pidgin Portable 2.0.2. Pidgin, formerly known as Gaim, is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that works with AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google, ICQ, Jabber and other networks all within an easy to use interface. This new test release now fully supports using a CommonFiles\GTK folder (as GIMP does). It also has built-in support for Pidgin preferences paths so your buddy icons and other settings will work as you move PCs.

I only recently decided to create a forum account but i have been following Portable apps from very close by. I want to thank John for his great work to keep this site and the apps up to date! I made my own Portable apps menu inspired by John and an other program (ViStart ).
Anyway enough talking! Below you can find a link to my creation. (It is written with Visual Basic 2005 Express edition)

I've just posted a pre-release of aMSN Portable. This is another one I'd had kicking around. It's an instant messaging client specific to MSN. As a result, it can use some of the more advanced features of MSN that Gaim and Miranda can't.

Download aMSN Portable 0.97 RC1 Pre-Release 2
(may take a few minutes to hit the download servers)

Please give it a try and post your feedback.

Thanks,
John

Shellfish Portable Beta 0.2

I decided to do a new release of Shellfish, my onscreen keyboard designed to avoid keyloggers (but not guaranteed to).

License: MIT License

Features:

Use one of three techniques to avoid keyloggers.
Send false keystrokes to keyloggers.

Techniques:

To set a technique edit the ini file so that the method entry is the keyword of the method you want.

  1. A paste style technique that puts text into the control. While this only works with standard windows edit controls it is the most secure. Keyword: directpaste
