Sudoku PortablePuzzles have non-unique solutionsSubmitted by dave5252 on July 28, 2009 - 9:45am
Routinely, Sudoku Portable produces puzzles that have non-unique solutions. Here's an example: The '1' and the '2' in R4C7, R4C9 & R7C7, R7C9 can be interchanged. ( categories: )

Sudoku UpdateSubmitted by rushkc1024 on February 11, 2008 - 10:04pm
I am an avid user of your Sudoku Portable. I understand you want to keep the application small so you have more than one solution to your puzzles. That is OK I just use this as brain candy. I would like to see an update that will automatically delete the small numbers in a square when a large number is selected. And I just mean the small numbers that correspond to the quadrant the number is in as well as the associated horizontal and vertical lines with that number. It would make solving the puzzle much easier and faster. Kevin ( categories: )

Sudoku AlternativesSubmitted by kmbarr on August 15, 2007 - 10:37am
I have to agree with a much echoed sentiment here that this application is not up-to-par with the quality of the other PortableApps.com applications--multiple solutions and guessing at numbers isn't "hard" it's just annoying. Is anyone aware of better alternatives? Maybe a different source we could point John toward in making it portable? I haven't tried many Windows applications for this, but they mostly seem to be not free and not portable. A couple of excellent, free, and open-source projects I have found for other platforms, both written in JAVA, are: ( categories: )
