Audacity Portable

((Audacity)) I just bought this from amazon.com can't figure it out.thanking about returning it. All I wanted to do is record my tapes to my PC. Can anyone help me.

In the file "AudacityPortable.ini" I've discovered, that in the sections [FileWrite1] - [FileWrite5] at the entry "File" a path with the file "audacity.cfg" was used. But due to the used Typ "INI" is this code invalid. Accordingly, the sections [FileWrite1] - [FileWrite5] have no effect.

After downloading the zip version of FFmpeg 0.6.2, the content should be extracted to a folder called FFmpeg. This folder can be replaced with the folder FFmpeg, which already exists in X:\PortableApps\AudacityPortable\App. To note however is, that this exchange only should be performed for Audacity 1.3.13 or later.

Is there a way to isolate just the Guitar or pluck it out ?
Or is the a different program anyone suggests ?
I have seen it done but not sure how, I read the tuts and things at audacity and wiki, but not a lot there.
You can hear examples of isolated guitar or vocals or whatever you want at youtube.

So apparently installing a newer version of Audacity Portable (or reinstalling the existing version) wipes the LAME and FFmpeg libraries in the /App folder.

How LAME. (Sorry)

In a future release, it would be great to have these directories either excluded from the "delete old version" routine in the installer or have the portable app read them from the /Data directory instead so they aren't wiped on upgrade.

Would you be able to remove CDEarth.com from the Google ad on the AudacityPortable home page? These people tie unsuspecting users into recurring "subscriptions" to Audacity. The Audacity Team filtered them out years ago.

I downloaded it and extracted zip in the ffmpeg folder. I use the locate button to locate the dll, and then ok but it still says |FFmpeg library not found", wth?

At startup Audacity receives error messages:
Failed to convert file "M:\PortableApps Suite™\PortableApps\AudacityPortable\App\Audacity\Portable Settings\audacity.cfg" to Unicode.
can't open user configuration file 'M:\PortableApps Suite™\PortableApps\AudacityPortable\App\Audacity\Portable Settings\audacity.cfg'.
The program does not remember preferences and settings (language, folders, location of LAME and ffmpeg).Reinstalling and change directories did not help.

Hello, I read in the newsletter that we switched back to some earlier version.
Not exactly sure why... ? But more importantly, I have used 1.2.6 for a long time, Never have ANY problems with the functions and things I use it for, I record my old cassettes, We use it to cut portions or songs and or reply them over and over to learn with instruments, We make Mp3's and all this stuff. What would I lose and gain if I move up to 1.3.11 ? I think it is. I remember not upgrading from 1.2.6 for a specific reason but dang if I can recall what it is or was...Maybe you know ?.

1. Broken language switching: It doesn't seem to work at all and keeps setting Audacity to System Default language which is very annoying.
2. No instuctions for installing FFMPEG on the Audacity Portable Download page
3. Maybe making plugin installers for FFMPEG and Lame will help with this.

BTW my PortableApps.com platform version is 2.0 Beta 4.
