PortableApps.com PlatformPortableApps.com Menu, Backup and Platform/Suite installer. OpenOffice Program missing from P-Apps MenuSubmitted by tsneller on November 4, 2009 - 11:49am
I installed the latest version of Open Office (3.1.1) this afternoon, and noticed that the OO Front End program "OpenOfficePortable.exe" is not shown in the P-Apps menu (v2.0 beta 3). Is this intended, or is there something wrong. Before anyone asks "Why would you want to be able to open this, when you can just run the Individual applications?", it does give immediate access to some of the settings, and YES - i know that you can get to it by opening any other OO app and closing the open Document, but it takes longer. NB. I have checked for Hidden Icons. ( categories: )
Ordering of icons on menu ... and sub-menus ??Submitted by softfoot on November 4, 2009 - 7:36am
Hi, I've been busily building up a portfolio of useful apps on my flash stick. It's a GREAT tool However, I wonder if there is a way to alter the order that icons are displayed - what I would like to do is put the more frequently used ones at the top - but it seems to force them into alphabetical order. Perhaps there is a way to do it, but I have missed it. Also it strikes me that allowing sub-menus would be a useful way of organizing apps. Dave ( categories: )
Adding batch file to portable apps menu?Submitted by rwttaber on November 3, 2009 - 8:08pm
Is there a way to show a batch file in the portable apps menu? I am using platform 2 beta 3. Does it only pick up .exe? I was thinking of writing a program in C++ to open it but that seems like it would be a lot of work if the platform could be configured to show it. Thanks! ( categories: )
Automatic, built in desktop type thing![]() Submitted by ChaDonSom on November 2, 2009 - 9:15pm
I was thinking about the wallpaper swapper built into the menu... In the development test releases, there is like only one desktop icon replacer that actually works. There is also the portableapps icon application, but that is only one icon, and it isn't really an icon at all. What would be nice is if Mr. Haller could somehow add something like the wallpaper swapper, but more advanced, almost to where it creates a whole new "desktop" folder. It would have: 1) a background - perhaps it could be as easy to set and change as the menu picture is. ( categories: )

How to install an icon on the menuSubmitted by fletch on October 31, 2009 - 3:47pm
Just downloaded and installed portable chrome and while it works fine, it did not put an icon on the PA menu. Is there an easy way to add this to the start menu? Thanks, Fletch ( categories: )
Rock Band Studio Theme![]() Submitted by qwertymodo on October 30, 2009 - 5:29pm
I've been getting into the Rock Band Customs scene, and found that most of the tools used for creating custom charts for Rock Band are natively portable, so I started using the PortableApps Menu as an easy launcher for all of those tools. I decided that my PAM could use a custom facelift as well, and here's my result ( categories: )
Ideas for the PortableApps.com PlatformSubmitted by FrogPAM on October 27, 2009 - 2:14pm
I've been thinking about some improvements in PortableApps.com's platform. Maybe there could be a tool to customize the menu, by adding a picture to the background, or by changing the color of the menu. And to organize the platform, there could be user-defined groups for apps! I don't know much about development, but if that could be possible, it would be a great improvement. ( categories: )

Implement 'home/end keys' in menuSubmitted by muswell on October 25, 2009 - 7:22pm
I recall not being able use arrow keys in the portable menu but it was allowed, now can I use home/end keys to help navigate my exceedingly long list of "portable" programs? Thanks ( categories: )
