1.0 installer crashes

Submitted by davidhales on November 19, 2009 - 7:54pm

After downloading version 1.0 from:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/portableapps/SumatraPDFPortable_1.0.paf...

I double click on the file to install it and it asks what language to install. After clicking the okay button it crashes. The program goes no further. I am using Windows XP with SP3. What am I doing wrong? I have never had this problem before. I downloaded a previous version and it installed with no problems. Please help.

Crashes when re-sizing window horizontally

Submitted by axemblack on October 14, 2009 - 4:07am

Sumatra always crashes for me when I try to resize the PDF document horizontally.

Also, isn't Sumatra natively portable? It's a single file installation. A PortableApp package seems a bit redundant.

Love the work though PortableApps rule!

Ebook reading issue in continuous view.

Submitted by bigpallooka on July 29, 2009 - 1:19pm

When reading ebooks in this application if the visible area finishes part way through a line of text when you continue forward a full screen you start at the bottom half of that line. Is there anyway to cause forwarding to continue at a place equal to one line back? It is a real pain to have to scroll back one line each time.

Resizing the browser pane

Submitted by PollieXmas on July 3, 2009 - 11:18am

Hi,

(Sorry, ignore this, restarting the app fixed the problem :-/ )

When sumatra opened the same same doc I've been viewing normally before, the browser pane is suddenly so narrow you cannot read anything. It does not allow me to resize it either.

Anyone have a problem resizing the browser pane before? Is it a bug?

I use a large monitor (connected to my notebook) at work and the notebook screen at home. This does throw off some apps opening up completely off the screen where it was last positioned on the large screen. Maybe it is related?

Regards
Paul

The Red Cross, and your portable applications.

Submitted by Gimmick on February 5, 2009 - 2:33am

Hello,
I am a volunteer with my local Red Cross Chapter, and I am deeply involved with their tech department. My department is looking into putting a large amount of information onto flash media (Thumb Drives) so if there is a computer handy, whoever is using the info may do so in a quick and efficient way. Laptops for everyone would be nice, however what money our chapter of the Red Cross receives, needs to go to higher priority things than laptops. So, we are looking at the flash media as a way to access the data should a laptop or PC be available.

Annotating PDFs

Submitted by nttuzydupcpm on January 23, 2009 - 3:54pm

Does anyone know of a portable application that supports the annotation of PDFs?

Is Sumatra headed in this direction?

I've been using PDF-XChange Viewer, but perhaps someone has seen something better.
