If you do not have an existing translation then follow these steps:

  1. Download a copy of Poedit. This is the program you will use to translate Toucan.
  2. Go to http://drop.io/toucanlang and download the default.pot file
  3. Open Poedit and click File->New catalog from POT File and fill in your details, if you do not provide an email address I will not be able to ask for updates and your translation is unlikely to be included in Toucan. Save it as toucan.po

Automated Secure Backups

phrekus - February 7, 2012 - 4:06pm

I have read the forums front to back and have not been able to fine a way to create an automated secure backup using toucan. I am very new to LUA and not familiar with the syntax. I am looking to run two fully automated scheduled encrypted backups on opposite days. If anyone can provide some sample scripts or hints that would be awesome.

Toucan 3.1 release 11

norrevel - January 14, 2012 - 6:20am

Hi new to Toucan and forum,
Having problems
Using sync
Wanted to run job did preview identified 8 file out of 50,000 that would be copied or updated. This was done in seconds.
Process dialog shows files processed.
Process dialog is frozen and cannot be shut down without using task manager.
App is also frozen.
Task manager CPU percentage sitting at 25% was up to 75%.

It would be nice if Toucan would show the progress in some way.

I'm just wondering, is it really an alternative?

3.1 PreRelease 10

epr - December 29, 2011 - 5:04pm

I wish to THANK YOU for the latest update.

The log file would benefit from a summary listing of the failed file executions.

Also, a summary of number of files copied, skipped, removed, etc. would be great.

When I have a 1,000 files, it becomes timely to locate the failed file executions when I am not sitting in front of the screen for however long the script decides to take.

3.1 Pre Release 9 Job Execution

epr - December 23, 2011 - 8:56am

I upgraded v3.1-8 to v3.1-9.
v3.1-9 will not execute an individual job nor a script.
I get the message "Toucan has stopped working windows will search for problem"

I tried deleting v3.1-8 and installing v3.1-9 rebuilding the jobs. No luck. Same message.

I have windows 7 pro 32 bit.

backup on regular intervals

janvg - December 15, 2011 - 11:18am

Is it possible to let Toucan do a backup on regular intervals (every 2 minutes for instance). The problem i want to solve is the following:
I have a directory in which files are temporarily (very short time sometimes) stored, before the are moved away by a program. I want to keep a copy of these files.
I think the best way to do this is to let a backup program run in the background and backup the directory every couple of minutes (before the files are moved).
Can Toucan do this?
Thanks
JanVG

Password Protected Mapped Drive

JohnT - December 12, 2011 - 9:18am

I have searched through the forum but if I have missed this subject I'm sorry.
I would like to save my back ups to a password protected mapped drive on my Home Netword. I can't see how to put the password into Tucon to allow access. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Weird error with variables (3.1 build 31.Oct.) and equalize

kensai - November 29, 2011 - 9:48am

Hello all,

There is a strange error that pops up when tying to sync with a network share.

The error is:
The source must exist
Toucan 3.1 must exist

The job looks like this:

Source:
@LocalF@\Files\Sync\

Destination:
@Remotehost-D@\Files\Sync\

Variables:
LocalF F:
Remotehost-D \\remotehost\d

Oddly enough, it shows the preview, both folder contents and does work with the path names instead of the variables. This is on Win7-64bit.

Help/bug?
