GIMP logoGIMP Portable 2.2.12 has been released as US English and multilingual packages. It's the handy GIMP image editor packaged as a portable app, so you can work with your graphics and pictures on the go from your USB flash drive, iPod or portable hard drive. It has all the same great features as GIMP including support for multiple file formats (PSD, PNG, BMP, JPG, GIF, etc), extensive plugin and fliter support and more. Plus, it leaves nothing behind on the PC you use it on. It even supports running from a CD. Read on for all the details...

Live/CD Support - GIMP Portable now supports running from a CD or other read-only media right out of the box, making it easy to carry with you. Just be sure to run it once locally and configure it to your liking. Then burn the whole thing to CD. Full details are in the support topic on Running from a CD.

In-Place Upgrades - GIMP Portable supports the ability to do an "in-place upgrade". This means that you can extract the next release right over your existing installation of GIMP Portable without losing any of your settings and it'll Just Work. This will apply to later releases as you'll still need to manually upgrade due to the name change.

Language Support - GIMP Portable now supports the ability to use a different language than that of the host PC. Full details are in the support topic Changing GIMP Portable to Another Language.

Improved Compatibility - GIMP Portable now features improved compatibility and should function correctly even when run on a PC that has a different version of GTK+ installed. It will even detect and offer to workaround locally-installed DLLs that are incompatible with it.

Nope. There is a new GIMP version, but it's 2.2.13. A portable version is being packaged.

2.3.x is part of the unstable branch. AKA testers only, not for production use.

bytheway, there is an error in your launcher. i included gimp in your suite... and the launcher don't find the settings directory from gimp... and in the errormessage, the path-variable is empty...

I'm glad you were able to make this a portable program. I love it. Though, it does make me wonder why Adobe Photoshop is so honking big. Shock
