New App: Armagetron Advanced Portable 0.2.8.3.1 (3d lightcycle game) Released

logoArmagetron Advanced Portable 0.2.8.3.1 has been released. Armagetron is a multiplayer game in 3d that attempts to emulate and expand on the lightcycle sequence from the movie Tron. It's an old school arcade game slung into the 21st century.. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

PortableApps.com Platform 2.0 Beta 5 users who already have this app installed, simply click 'Check for Updates' in your PA.c Menu to update to the new version.

Features

ScreenshotHighlights include a customizable playing arena, HUD, unique graphics, and AI bots. For the more advanced player there are new game modes and a wide variety of physics settings to tweak as well. The default player 1 keys are Z for left, X for right and V for brake. Controls are configured in the Player Setup menu.

I updated the format and launcher to the current version for the stable release and fixed an issue with the working directory.

This is a pretty good simple game. I first ran across this probably 5 or 6 years ago, maybe longer ago than that. My kids like playing it here and there.

I used to play this a couple of years back, fantastic game. I always wanted this to be portable, but never expected it.
