Try a different mirror. I just tried it, and the auto-selected mirror did pretty much the same as you are describing. HEANet Ireland mirror seems to work however.
Mr. Haller, I've had nothing but problems with 1.1.9 and 1.1.8 (on a W2kP system dual boot with Linux) they don't play files that the linux 1.0.4 goldeneye does.
FileHippo only has the desktop/laptop version in their archives, where can I find,so I can revert back to the last trouble free-version, VLC portable 1.1.6 ?
Interesting that you say this as I too have been having nothing but problems with the last few versions of VLC.
I'm running a fully patched and up-to-date version of Win XP Home SP3 and for some reason DVD's which are ripped to my HDD previously played fine with VLC, but now will not play at all.
Is anyone else here having this problem?
I can't actually remember what the last version of VLC was that worked properly for me, but I think I'll roll back to v1.1.7 and see what happens.

There was some issue with the first mirroring, so it's been reuploaded and should properly hit all mirrors within the next 10-15 minutes.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Have you fully patched your Win2K system with SP4 and UR1?
