Help Needed: Displaying Executable Files in PortableApps Platform

Hi PortableApps,

I’m seeking assistance with configuring PortableApps to properly display executable files located in specific directories. I’m having issues with the PortableApps platform not recognizing and displaying executables that are located in subdirectories.

Background:
I am trying to include executables from a subdirectory (specifically the bin directory) of a portable application within the PortableApps platform. However, the platform only seems to display executable files that are directly within the PortableApps subdirectories, not those located in subsubdirectories.

What I’ve Tried:
Verified that executable files are correctly placed in the bin directory.
Checked the settings in PortableApps.ini and AppInfo.ini.
Created shortcuts and placed them in the PortableApps directory without success.
Request for Assistance:
Can someone guide me on how to configure the PortableApps platform to include and display executables located within subdirectories?
Are there specific settings or configuration changes I need to make to ensure these files are recognized?
If additional configuration files or steps are needed, please provide detailed instructions.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,

The Platform does not check

The Platform does not check subdirectories, only the first level directory like you have experienced, and it only looks for proper executables, not shortcuts.

A couple of things:
You mention PortableApps.ini - this isn't a valid file used by PortableApps, I'm assuming you mean PortableAppsMenu.ini? But either way, this file can't help you.

You also mention AppInfo.ini - if you mean the one for the Platform, again this file can't help you. Otherwise if you mean you've created one for the app you want to show in the menu, assuming you have created the correct folder structure for everything and the ini file is valid and correct, did you run the PortableApps Launcher on the folder to generate the portable executable?

Another way, since you mentioned shortcuts, is to use a shortcut to exe converter on each shortcut.
