I think it's worth noting, I looked into setting the language automatically with the installer, and although it's stored in the registry as a Windows language code (i.e. 1033), it needs to be converted to hex first and I didn't see a way to do that.

In any case, yay! Blum

what about the App itself?

I think its too much work for nothing. Maybe in the future when we want all apps with german installer/Launcher strings but not atm.

And if you have the time could you update the german front page?

Its REALLY old Smile

Questions like this shouldn't go on a news story, rather in the Forums. This question is asked a lot, and there is several unsupported solutions available like using the 'Portable App Creator', or the 'Portable Application Template'. The best solution (but maybe the hardest is to modify the code from on of the launchers here in the Other\Source directory. Here's a recent post asking the same question. You can find those tools I mentioned by searching the forums. Please do not reply to this, thanks.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?

I really love this App and am very happy to see it in the official List.

I use it very often because its handy to compare nsi files between versions Smile
Hope you get your games released soon *hint*!

I've been waiting for a program like this to pop up for free, several times I've had two huge folders on my drives and had no way of properly comparing the two other than just hard labour and guesswork. Now it's on my USB for free...top stuff!

BTW, long time user/reader, first time poster. I finally registered just to comment on this Biggrin

Congratulations, Ryan, on your first official release. I'll sure be using this, the same way I have ever since it first came out as beta. Thanks.

Thanks Ryan!

EDIT

Found a typo on the winmerge page:

I'll download and try it out.

That's because it's before the <!--more--> (I think, maybe that's WP) tag. Take a look at the news pages at /news to see how it works.

This is by far my favorite diff program, and now it's a portableapp! Saw the update on my gMail feed and was quite excited. Thanks a million!

I'm new to WinMerge and was surprised to see it has an installed size of 11.5M

I have been a happy user of Igor Green's Compare It! (formerly WinCmp) for many years which has an installed size of 1.5M (one executable, one help file, no dlls)

Is there any one familiar with both that can tell me what I get for an extra 10M?

I can tell you that 7.5MB of that is language support; you can probably delete the ones you wouldn't use. Another 1.3MB is standard libraries.
