Features

Eraser Portable ScreenshotEraser Portable is a secure file-deletion and data wiping utility. With support for multiple wipes, pattern writing and more, it can be used to securely delete any sensitive data. Learn more about Eraser...

Flash Drive Note: Most modern flash drives use wear leveling to spread write operations out over a device. This interferes with Eraser (and other secure deletion utilities) ability to wipe single files. Wiping an entire drive or erasing a file and then wiping free space should still work securely, though it will put additional wear on your drive.

New In This Release

This new release updates Eraser to the latest version, adds Windows 7 support and has an improved launcher and installer.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Eraser Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

They used to list it as 5.XX back before the current release. I've updated the display versions for it on our site now. But we'll need to internally reference the old scheme or the updater won't be able to update (since 5.86a is greater than 5.8.7).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hi,

Is it just me, or does the context menu not function with the portable version? I use the right-click to secure move & erase all the time, but it is not visible for the portable version on my machine (Windows XP SP2)

Thanks,
David

Nope it doesn't do that. There are way around it. If you'd likie more information post in the other apps section of the forums.

Too many bridges you can burn
Too many tables you can't turn
Don't wanna live my life in the real world
