Portable Music Software?

Submitted by BenMcLean on September 1, 2006 - 1:43pm

What I would really like is a portable version of a program that does the same job thing as FL Studio

http://www.flstudio.com/

FL Studio (also called "FruityLoops") is a totally awesome music program that takes a different approach from most - instead of "writing music" you're moving bars around with the mouse - but it does the same thing and really works great. On my computer at home. If I want to take my songs anywhere I basically have to pack the whole computer as well so I can make sure that all the instruments and sounds I used in the song will be there when I arrive.

So, the program works, it sounds good, but it isn't portable at all. (I got it from a friend)

In-Place Upgrades

This is mainly to John but if someone else can answer that'd be cool too.

I was wondering how you made the SFX archives be able to do this. I'd like to do it to a few files that I want to backup on my computer.

Good external HD?

I'm looking for a fast and reliable high-capacity drive. Hard drive aren't really that expesive, so price isn't much if an issue unless it's ridiculously high.
Reliablity is number 1 for me. I don't want one that'll die in 2-3 years.

access to contacts for several people to be able to change

Submitted by Bobvark on August 23, 2006 - 7:56pm

I coach a local team and would like for my 2 parent reps to be able to access all of my contacts, but I would also like to have them available. They will be in charge of updating it and mailing out certain things, but I also need the ability to view the current info if i need to contact a kid.

i remember something about a site for projects that was free and had all sorts of collaboration stuff. i thought it was backpack or something. Anyway Anyone know of such a site that would allow this?

Thanks

Yahoo Mail Beta

Submitted by wsm23 on August 23, 2006 - 1:02pm

I didn't know if this was a FFP topic or not.

I use FFP for U3 with 1.5.0.43 launcher and FF 1.5.0.6.

I tried switching to Yahoo Mail Beta.

Man it seems to run slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, and even lock up the browser.

I already tried contacting Yahoo to leave feedback for them.

I KNOW it is a Beta, but I was curious if anyone else had the same issues.

new message flag not on messages on 2nd page of thread

Submitted by azjerry on August 18, 2006 - 1:09pm

I know this has been posted before but I haven't seen a reply from John so I'm posting again. I spologize in advance if I missed any replies.

When I click a link like "2 new" for a thread and the new messages are on the first/only page of messages, I go to the first new message and each new message has a red New flag. But if there are more than one page of messages the link just takes me to the beginning of the thread. None of the messages on the following page(s) have the New flag either.

Maybe it's a Drupal problem but it would be nice to get fixed if possible.

Mark as read

Submitted by Jonathan on August 15, 2006 - 9:26pm

So I suck with the search thing we have on this site so sorry if this has been requested but can we please have a "Mark as read" link to mark all the forum topics as read? It's hard to memorize all these numbers for each forum to see if there is a new post.

Signature Length

I have recently tried to make my signature longer, and found the only way on these forums is to use the Signature extension. Despite being able to make the textbox bigger, it cuts my sig down.
Is this a Drupal bug, feature or is it just this site?

I'm off to Austria for a week and a half so try not to break anything while I'm gone!

See you,
