The operating system emulator Qemu is already portable in that it downloads in a zip file that it runs straight from. It might need some sort of frontend to make it more user friendly for the uninitiated.

What it does mean is that anyone can make a small disk image & carry their favourite app with them under any OS they have an install disk for. An unneeded Win 98 disc can be very useful here. It is a small install & many programs are still win 98 compatable.

You know an app that can be run off an iPod and is dedicated to h@cking the iPod , by doing things like replace the battery meter with a voltage meter, and other amazing things.

I saw that your portableapps backup facility can use 7z. My suggestion is to "activate" the encryption fonction of 7z in the backup menu, that would simplify the life of thousands of people !

Hey guys, im new here, I found your site after finding the portable cs2 photoshop and loving how I can get work done when im anywhere..

I was wondering about getting Adobe After Effects 7 or Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 onto a portable version.

I have no idea how to do this, tho I am researching various guides posted. I searched to no avail, except for one kid who was apparently trying to make a Sony Vegas portable project, tho not sure if he finished it.

How do you find out what files the program is accessing? So you know all the required files...

Hi there! I've been using Firefox and Miranda (both portable) for a month or so, and I must say They're both kick-ass apps.

But Our PortableInternet experience would be very much enhanced with a portable version of Last.FM client... Is it possible?
