I'm trying to keep to an app a day or so, though I got slowed down a bit this week. I have 8 more apps in test at the moment. Some will need beta testing before a general release.

Yippee!

This'll teach them not to mock our portable apps. The next time they catch a virus, we all know who they'll go running to first.

Oh yes, yes my precious, they will all bow before us!

There`s a section on translating AbiWord in the ClamWin support.

John, you're really cranking 'em out!

This is a great antivirus, I don't know why I had never heard of it before.

Keep up the great work!

this program works also togheder Winpooch (a prog. that is able to scanning in real time...option that clamwin hasn't).....it's portable, but I'm not able to make a launcher that update Winp. and start both programs...but if is possible to make this, will be very useful! ...I belive in developpers Blum

One thing I've noticed is that there is no progress bar for how far the scan has gone through the selected volume.

Anyone else think that this would be a good idea?

(John, I realize that there's nothing you can do about this until that feature is officially released by the clamwin team, this comment is just to get feedback on the idea.)

Yeah, that's an option for the future. Remember, ClamWin isn't at 1.0 yet. By then they should iron out issues like this. And, hopefully, have realtime scanning.

I downloaded your portable ClamAV and tried it
It gave me the following message

C:\downloads\PortableVLC\vlc\plugins\libmux_ps_plugin.dll: Trojan.Xombe.HTTP.A FOUND

Ok I found out it was a known issue

Last time I was here, I just had Portable Firefox and FileZilla, now, 2 more GREAT apps, this virus scanner and VLC.

Just updated to the latest version, which required installing on desktop, using UPX again (two of the exe files will fail if UPXd...clamscan.exe and freshclam.exe, if I recall correctly...all other exes and dlls that do compress will work fine) and carefully copying files from there to overwrite most files in Portable ClamWin (on my thumbdrive), maintaining John H.'s directory structure.

Much easier/safer to wait for John to update it though Wink

Definitely better to be patient and wait for John's version, as his version is a little over 4 MB smaller (after updating the virus database), even though I did UPX files.
