A quick note to those using Avast Antivirus - it is currently giving a false positive on the download for GIMP Portable and will cause the installation to fail.

You will need to deactivate the Web Shield component of Avast to successfully install the updated package, and also disabled the File System Shield to have the specific file not be quarantined.

I have reported this to Avast.

As per 2013-06-26, this has apparently been fixed—without the need to deactivate anything in Avast! Antivirus. I just ran the PA Updater again today and all is well.

Thanks for reporting!
