logoPortableApps.com is proud to announce that we've teamed up with the makers of KeyZ to bring portable software to their new slim keyring, multitool, and flash drive. KeyZ is currently in the kickstarter phase as they raise the funds for their innovative new keyholder (UPDATE) has now released their product and we liked the idea so much, that we decided to work with them to add even more functionality to their ultraslim all-in-one.

KeyZ - Bulky KeyZ Made Easy

ScreenshotKeyZ is an innovative new approach to carrying multiple keys in a more compact design. Instead of a bulky keyring, your keys fold into a solid metal holder. This makes your keys thinner, quieter (no more jingling), and more comfortable in your pocket. But it's not just for KeyZ. KeyZ has 6 hex wrenches and a bit holder built right into the holder. KeyZ is available with an optional multi-tool that includes more hex wrenches, two screwdrivers, a bottle opener, a mini pry-bar, a box opener, and a mini ruler. Finally... and this is where we come in... KeyZ includes a good, basic 32GB key-shaped mini flash drive. All of this in a solid, American-made, stainless steel package.

Your Apps on Your KeyZ

ScreenshotThe KeyZ USB flash drive is preloaded with the PortableApps.com Platform and a suite of apps so you can bring your apps with you wherever you go. It comes with the Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition web browser, Mozilla Thunderbird, Portable Edition email client, the Microsoft Office-compatible LibreOffice office suite, CoolPlayer+ music player, KeePass secure password manager, and ClamWin antivirus. And you can easily add hundreds more free apps using the included PortableApps.com App Store.

I really like the concept, which is why I reached out to Elan Smile

Serves me right. Every time I go and put money on a Kickstarter more of them just seem to find me. I am already locked in for over $300 worth on two Kickstarter projects within the next 40 hours, I guess at least I have another paycheck due before KeyZ finishes.

And I (finally) just got around to buying a couple of PortableApps Companions, too.

Wow! They are there already.

That's a good addition.

I have been trying to find something like this.

And if you lose your keys an honest person may find your address in your personal documents on the flash drive, and send them back to you. A dishonest person may lock himself into your home and steal your computer – then you won't need your flash drive!

Why stop there ? You could put your bank account numbers on it to for someone else to have ! Credit card numbers too !

....or you could just do something intelligent, like giving a Post Office Box as an address , and encrypting your information before putting it on a flash drive to keep it safe !

We do have KeePass Portable available too for all of the browser passwords !

If you're that lame, why have keys at all ?
