And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Does anyone know how to get an older version?
This new "shiny" 2014 version erased all my settings, all my tweaks, all my catalogues, rendering the ... useless.
I have no taste for starting all over again, so I rather find an old version of it and try to restore it. If that doesn't work, I'll dump it. Just want to try to rescue my tool first, however.

You can re-create them in the new version since it has all the same features. The new version isn't compatible with the old version's settings, a limitation of the app itself (nothing to do with us). So your settings are backed up to FreeCommanderPortable\Data\settings-backup. You can get the old version at the site, but note that it is abandoned and no longer supported by the publisher or PortableApps.com.

I've been using the older version for about as many years as it has existed (which is a long, long time). And, yes, I do find the newer version a bit much to just jump into. So I'll just continue to use the older version while I play around with the newer one. I mean, it's really just the same tool taking advantage of the new interface stuff offered by newer versions of Windows. Under the covers the tool is still the tool--very useful. It's certainly more like the older version than another application entirely. And you might even find a new feature that you didn't even know you really wanted all along.

Hi everyone! I found good solution for Total7zip plugin with FreeCommander XE.
In file \App\AppInfo\Launcher\FreeCommanderPortable.ini you need to write strings:

[Environment]
COMMANDER_PATH=%PAL:AppDir%
COMMANDER_INI=%PAL:DataDir%\settings\FreeCommander.ini

then you may copy total7zip.template.xml to \Data\settings\total7zip.xml
and restart FreeCommander.
Information about plugin's workspace take from here.

The downside is output error when trying to configure the plugin using the [Configure...], do it after you press [Run].

P.S.: Maybe need to attach 64bit version to official PA release?
