logoDM2 Portable has been released. DM2 provides several Windows enhancements like minimization to floating icons or the system tray that may help in every-day work. This release updates to the latest format and adds an updated icon. It's packaged in Format so it can easily integrate with the Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the Platform.

ScreenshotMoreover, DM2 can manipulate windows in various ways: minimize to tray, make them standing always on-top over all other windows, roll to caption, resize, align to screen borders, hide, set the opacity etc. DM2 also helps with Open/Save dialog boxes, by providing user-defined menu with favorites and recent files and folders. Plenty of program's settings options will satisfy most of requirements. And that is not all! DM2 also supports custom plugins, which further enhances the program and that usually covers some more specific functionalities. So, from this aspect, one may think of DM2 as a small, but robust manager for all kind of plugins. Find what you need, plug it in, and use it.

Compatibility Issues: Some windows will not work with DM2's right-click menu on the minimize button. This includes windows which don't use the standard Windows controls (most web browsers). This app is not compatible with paths with non-ANSI characters. This app will likely not work with 64-bit apps. If you're interested in further developing this app, please let us know.

"DM2 is tested on Windows 2K/XP..." Sad quoted from

I think it is very important and missing from the "Features" section.
But it is promising that the screenshot portion looks like made in Win7.

It works fine here on Win7 x64. As mentioned on the app homepage, it won't work on non-ANSI paths. It's an older utility.

Excuse me for my being silly.
DM2 does not work on non-ANSI paths.

-- Non ANSI means 8.3 names, ASCII 32-128 (all caps) characters?
-- What paths? Related to app? System? ("portableapps" is 12 chars...)

OK, try then write dude. OK, PortableApps users are it-educated people.
Still, an even short, birdeyeview description may be more clear.

It means the app path. As in X:\WhateverElseIsHere\PortableApps\DM2Portable. If there are any non-ANSI characters... as in Unicode characters like say Japanese or Cyrillic characters... in the path, the app will fail. It doesn't matter if any of your system paths are non-ANSI. It has nothing to do with 8.3.
