PicPick Portable 4.2.5 has been released. PicPick is an all-in-one program, primarily system tray-based, that provides a full-featured screen capture tool, an intuitive image editor, a color picker, a color palette, a pixel-ruler, a protractor, a crosshair and even a whiteboard. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. PickPick Portable is freeware for personal use only.

Suggestion of modification in launcher configuration

I am not sure of the following but I have the impression that in order to preserve registration of the application PicPick which is a file saved in C:\ProgramData\picpick, the "PicPickPortable.ini" launcher configuration file should be slightly modified. In the [DirectoriesMove] section, I think we should have something like "picpick2=%ALLUSERSAPPDATA%\picpick" instead of -=%ALLUSERSAPPDATA%\picpick.
This way, if we register the application, the licence file will remain and restore each time. I don't understand why we would want to not save modification. I tried my suggestion and it seems to works much better and keep restore my registration file in "C:\ProgramData\picpick" for example. I hope I am not writing stupidity.

Not saved to INI?
When running portably it doesn't save your registration details to the INI? Are you only running it with the PicPickPortable.exe or via the platform ?

Hi!
I've not installed PicPick on my computers (tested on two machine, one that I am not even admin on it).
I am running PicPick version 4.2.5. downloaded and installed directly from Portable Apps.
Then I go in "Program Options", then in "About" and then I enter there my registration code I got on August 9th of 2015.
After doing that, it was registered correctly but each time I close and restarted, I lost my registration and needed to re-enter code each time...
After some "exploration", I noticed after I entered my registration code it creates a file called "picpick.jki" into the folder "C:\ProgramData\picpick\".
If we don't do the modification I am suggesting, the folder is erased when we close the application and then if I re-launch the application my software is still not registered...
The famous "picpick.jki" file is a kind of little text file of 357 bytes (in my case at least...) starting with [00]\r/nDATA=qyPHf... and visibly a kind of secure string.
Before, this was not necessary. I've updated to version 4.2.5. in june this year. I was also on a fresh new USB memory stick larger. Before, I was using version 4.0.6. I was registered, but I did not have to play in the launcher ini file... I "tolerate" the situation until yesterday evening where I took the time to investigate.
Since my modification, it seems to work correctly now.
And before to reply to you on this, I took the time to test on a second computer, at work, where I am not admin of the machine.
I am sorry if something does not seem clear, I am not really a perfect bilingual.

Here are what I should have first answered...

Visibly not...
If I change an option, like default output filename for a capture, it does work. I see the modification saved in the "picpick.ini" file. If I close the session and then restart, it does restore it correctly. No problem with that. But when doing the registration, it doesn't seem to affect the INI file at all.

Via the Portable Apps platform.
I am sorry, this morning when I read that I though you mean from Windows, from a kind of local installation, sorry...
Now I am sure you're referring to Portable Apps kind-of-application-manager when you write "plateform"...
ALSO, I did a mistake and I say something wrong.
Regarding version 4.0.6. I told you I was using previously and I did not have to play in the launcher configuration...
Guess what? I did the same thing!!!
I did it visibly one year ago and I did not remember at all!
Regarding my old "PicPickPortable.ini" launcher configuration file from the previous USB stick I had, which still have the 4.0.6, I see clearly I did the same thing in the [DirectoriesMove] section...
Its looks like at that moment I did not take the time to let you know...
