Is there a setting that will allow the platform to close instead of minimizing to the systray?
It seems the sounds on button doesn't work because there's no audio files? (there is on the web version and hosted on ADR's github)
I am wondering (when using an older, slower computer) if it would be better to use the default, installed media viewer, or the portable VLC that I have on my USB drive--not in terms of graphic performance and the quality of the display, but in terms of slowing down the old computer itself.
When I am working on an older, slower computer, I am a bit conscious about not slowing down the computer to the point of it freezing up or something like that.
I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post my question in.
I am receiving the error "Call to a member function get() on null" when using the following download links from the portableapps.com respective app pages:
Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I'm not seeing the current PortableApps.com Platform version number in the Options dialog box. Would it be reasonable to add it to the 'General' or 'Updater' tab of that dialog box? Or perhaps, even better, create an 'About' tab for that dialog box that includes the version number. Doing this will not add another menu item, but will make the version number readily available.
There's another recent thread on this topic, but the OP wasn't behaving nicely or respectfully, so I didn't want to post there.
When trying to download updates, I sometimes get this error message:
---------------------------
PortableApps.com Platform
---------------------------
Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location.
For example, currently getting this message when trying to update A Dark Room.
So I manually deleted the entire installation. Tried downloading the latest version of the portable apps software whih is PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_21.2.2.paf
Installed that. But it won't let me download any packages for installation.
Just the same stupid message: "Unable to download file. This could be due to a proxy server or network issue or..."
Hi,
When I Click on Apps, then Install a New App, the window that opens to let me pick a file is always full screen. I can not make it any smaller. Is there something I am overlooking to shrink the window size, or is being full sized part of the design?
I don't believe that this was true in earlier versions of the platform.
I'm just thinking whether it is possible to have some way to vote for an app to be included in the official listing, subject to the readily available resources to maintain it of course?
Thanks.
Ive created a portable app thats not on the platform.
How do I upload / publish it?
