Hi,
using PortableApps for years, and
always done updates by:
1. download fresh version from https://portableapps.com
2. install over the installed path

Question:
- is this proper "update" strategy, or
- should i use application own update like in the Thunderbird ?

I love PortableApps. I used it on windows to seperate cookies and identites with firefox portable. What do you recommend for Linux as I'm looking to switch to Ubuntu?

On the https://portableapps.com/apps/internet page, the Link to Otter Browser points to:
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/private_browsing
instead of
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/otter-browser-portable

I keep being tempted clicking the PortableApps.com logo and text on the lower left of the platform window when I want to go to the website.

Only to find it is not active or linked. What a waste of screen real estate!

Of course I have other means with Help - Support if I feel too lazy to just type it into my browser.

Maybe something to consider for a quiet hour.

Wow I just plugged my PortableApps drive into a laptop with a high-definition screen and it came out looking like this,

The icon is all jagged and crude looking. I assume it's an .ico, correct?

Any chance this can be updated for computers with HD screens?

I plugged the u disk into another computer and ran portable chrome in portableapps, but I found that the user settings and extensions of chrome disappeared, how can I keep my chrome extensions from disappearing because of changing computers, I am new to this, please forgive my ignorance. Much thanks!

Trying to update my portable Chrome browser, as I did many times before - running GoogleChromePortable_89.0.4389.114_online.paf.exe and directing it to install into my main Chrome directory.
However, now the exe stub gets stuck right at the start of the download phase, refusing to draw in and download anything. It just displays "connecting...", and after a while shows an error message (ERROR: SendRequest Error). Same error after some more attempts.

Just wondering what the difference is between donating to PortableApps.com and sponsoring PortableApps.com?
Or does the money support the same things?
