Right now I am testing Linux just for fun. I found out, that my Distribution comes with a PIM called Kontact. I have taken a look at this app and found out, that this could really be a good (portable) alternative to Outlook.
I read, that this application is in beta-testing, since more than one year (!) but have not found out, if they are still planning to release one for windows.
Now my questions:
1. Does anyone know about the status,
2. will that be a good app for portableapps?

Program: Truecombat Elite

License: Open Source/Freeware

Description: TrueCombat: Elite (TC:E or TC:Elite) is a total-conversion modification by Team Terminator and Groove Six Studios for the freeware first person shooter game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, started in the late 2004. The modification is in the tactical realism genre and supports Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. It is an offspring to a Quake 3 modification called TrueCombat, which holds some similarity in the game mechanics.

Hi, i only lookup these "Portable app" because i was looking for sth similar to "keepass" which is great but doesn't really do it for me!

I am not really worry about my passwords and use about the same everywhere(it is still faster then plug in a usb, copy then paste...blablabla)(don't take me wrong, kudos to all for the app i found here they do have a very good use for many.)

What I'm looking for is app similar to keepass and keeform (i can't find any yet) but that insted of focusing on password protection would focus on facilitate the registration to sites and forum....

music from usb and playlists like realplayer

So I am using Realplayer for the most part, though I do use Coolplayer and VLC for some things.
My problem is that I like Realplayer for only one reason, because it has that function of recognizing my mp3 player and letting me download music to and from it, and to set up playlists for the mp3 player.

Does anyone have any good apps that are out there that does that? It doesn't have to be fully portable.

I just want something on my usb key that uses the Music folder on my key(orwhereever) and recognizes my Sandisk Clip, and lets me download music to and fro w/ playlists.

Portable Desktop Search? PortableCopernic perhaps?

... and FREE.

Would be nice to carry indexes of all your PCs around with you on the USB drive. At any moment, you could locate any file, directory or other and identify on which PC it lives.

Gaviri works well, but its paidware. How about PortableCopernic perhaps? Its fast and got a good interface.
