Portable App Development

I would to like to know , is there any way to port the application to FTP location rather than external storages like USB/IPOD ..

I love Sunbird Portable. I use it to make a calendar I share with others. I am forced, for unrelated reasons, to share the calendar by exporting as a webpage or sometimes printing it. Both of these result in a multi-page list, starting at the beginning of the entire *year*, not "today." It's not pretty to look at, it isn't easy or quick to find something in, and I have no control over how I can export it.

I think that many of the users here have found themselves staying up too late and wishing the next day that they had something that would tell them when to go to sleep or when to do something. So I am proposing that a All in one Clock be made. So you could put in your own reminders, set a specific date, time, or week for your computer to Turn off, standby, hibernate or restart. Then you could even have your computer do certain tasks at certain times, such as locking down for your lunch break, playing your favorite song, or just running another program, etc.

This is kinda a general request for help. While working on Frets on Fire Portable I keep running into a slight problem. One in-game mod works but the other one does not. I first mentioned it here and have not gotten a response. I have tried everything I can, and have been working on this non-stop for the past and hoped to have the problem fixed be the today but it has not worked at all. So if anyone can take a look at it I would really grateful

Hi,

I have been using portable applications for a while.

Now during my spare time i am trying to learn to make portable applications myself.

I have read the "Creating A Portable App: A Guerilla Field Guide" and understood some of it[i am new to this :)]. Downloaded the recommended software.

Now i am trying to make a portable klavaro ( http://klavaro.sourceforge.net/ ). It is a typing software.

I did manage to create initial package with a launcher.

However, every time i start the software, after the i see the "development test splash screen" it gives me a error message.

I downloaded firefox and tried to play online games but when I go to them, it says i have to download plugins (Flash, Shockwave, etc...) so i download them. Then, i use a different computer, I have to download flsh again. I think that it actually downloads it to the computer that I'm on. So when I look online it says to download them as extentions if its portable (what?) so if anyone knows how to make a portable version of flash for firefox that you don't have to install over and over... please tell me. For now I use Opera (portable) (because it comes with flash).

when the Usb is connected the portable apps menu should pop up right away and an icon should appear on the desk top that can be used to open the port. apps. menu.

the icon should appear when plugged in and dissapear when disconnected

I've been fiddling with BPBible this morning. It is much improved over an early development version and I am going to start using it instead of SwordProject and maybe even E-Sword.

I do have one sizable request, though. Please integrate the Search window into the main window. Perhaps below to the right with the Commentary window. Having the Search window pop up in front of the Bible text doesn't make much sense. One always has to move it.

as we are using this great apps also on our servers, whereto we connect via terminal clients, it would be fine to be able to launch 2 or more instances of a portable app in the same time.

a recent example would be the process-explorer: if one instance is open @a term-window, on all other term-windows the launcher quits with the error: "shut down the running instance first.."

I've experimented rebuilding the processexplorer-launcher with the param "AllowMultipleInstances", but didn't succeed with this till now and the current paf seems to ignore this option in the ini-file.
