PAM Backup thoughts

I just had an idea:
If I did a backup this morning and I do one in the evening, too, then it prompts you whether you want to overwrite the old one or not. If I say NO it aborts.
Why not making a prompt to change the name instead of just aborting the process?

I don't know whether this has been mentioned/requested before but I just wanted to mention it.

Could someone who has done this please tell me every last detail about the coding, syntax, and packing, I have programs such as Apophysis that I would like to have on my portable apps (which I use multiple times daily) because of my fracal art that I also do on a daily basis. I know this is alot to ask and I am being very general and vague, but if you have any info for me at all, please either post here or email me at drigger01@gmail.com.

"Package management" (i.e., APT-like) system for Portable Apps

Submitted by paladin225 on May 7, 2007 - 1:48pm

Please see this thread for information about the Application Manager Portable project. This posting is no longer relevant.

Hello all,

A friend just told me about the Portable Apps Suite, so I downloaded it and gave it a try. It's an interesting system, but I'd like to suggest the addition of a "package management" system such as Debian's APT to facilitate application installs, removals, and upgrades.

Limiting to 1 PortableApps.exe only.

Submitted by Passerby007 on May 7, 2007 - 3:43am

Hi there. Just want to enquiry something.
Is it possible to limit the number of times of Portable Apps.exe?

Example is that each time I click on the PortableAppsMenu.exe, it will jus keep on launching and launching in the system tray icon.
Thus if I accidentally click it 10times, there will be 10 tray icons there. And 10 applications of POrtableAppsMenu running in the Task Manager.

Is there a way to limit the number of the Portable APps menu to just once?

Autorun when Flash Drive Plugged in

Submitted by moark on May 6, 2007 - 2:25pm

Thanks for Portableapps. I am totally new to using apps on a usb flash drive so forgive some dumb questions. I am installing my program I wrote on a flash drive. It works great but I would like to have it load automatically when plugged in or even on the portableapp menu.

A search of Google indicates that autorun will only work on CD's and not USB Drives.

Any ideas greatly appreciated. I finally was able to remove U3, Portableapps is much better.
