Great job- I'm glad to see this finally released Biggrin

After clicking on the Download button of the WinWGet Portable download page, I get redirected to the SourceForge's download pages (as expected), but nothing happens then, apart from a lot of messages "Waiting for [sourceforgemirrorname]..." in the Firefox's status bar, where [sourceforgemirrorname] is, of course, a name of a SourceForge's mirror, such as belnet.dl.sourceforge.net etc.
I've tried to download using IE too, but with no more success.
Downloading other apps works as always.
And no, I am not right clicking the red button Wink

Wink

In fact, I am sorry, because a greater time span would have saved one of us the time and effort of reporting.

Yeah. It is kinda sad.
Perhaps part of the spent time can be saved by creating an online service all forums dwellers will log on to. The service will scan each comment while typed, compare it near-real-time to other users scanned comments and randomly warn one of them when there's a possible duplicate. It will take a lot of developer time, cpu time, servers and bandwidth but it's the only way.

Unless...
We can alternatively create a token-ring based forums. In any given moment only one user have the option of commenting and if he fails to comment within his time frame the token moves on the next user. This will take far less resources than the previous suggested system and it will solve the problem of the spent time and efforts in comparison to the current system but it will inevitably extend the time of posting so the detection-to-reporting cycle might take much longer time to complete.

Anyway you look at it, it's a trade off.

Sad.

Hi, Can't seem to download the file.

I get the normal file download page from sourceforge and than I can see some mirrors in my browser's status bar and than nothing.

Had no problem downloading all other new apps.

Hat off to zooz Smile
I did try that too, but was not patient enough to try all the mirrors.

Edit: Thanks to BuddhaChu for the tip. By the way, can you remember the mirror that did the trick for you?

Edit2: I found it. It's New York, New York (after having tried all the European ones, the other two from North America, even the Asian one).

As mentioned in other topics, SourceForge had release issues after routine maintenance yesterday. I've re-released the file, so it should be on all mirrors shortly.

the homepage is missing the pre-1.0 note though.

We only do that for apps where you could lose some data (Sunbird, Task Coach, etc). Not for utilities, video players and things of that nature.

so aMSN would get one but ConvertAll wouldnt?

Anything with personal data. But only with personal data. WinWGet, no personal data. ConvertAll, no personal data. aMSN... borderline, maybe personal data in logs, but probably not. And this doesn't belong in a news story.

Oh i'm been waitin 4 this app as i'm a portable guy. So does this app can outwit fdm we'll see but can it integrate to firefox portable bcoz that's the problem with fdm. Anyway, good job guys!!!

Forgive me for posting this here. I did not see a forum specific to this portable app.

I love this portable app. I have been using wget from the command line for quite some time now and find it to be very helpful. Thank you for bringing this functionality to a graphical interface. NICE!

I ran into an issue with http downloads from sites that require auth. The --http-passwd option does not work. I believe that the option specified is in the improper notation. (This has changed with different versions of wget.) The correct option should be --http-password=. The log entry shows --http-pass. (Does not work.) I was able to work around the issue by specifying the option in the additional parameters field on the Logging and Input tab.

Thanks again for this utility. I will use it often!
