New In This Release

This release updates Task Coach to the latest release (release notes).

Task Coach Portable Development Handoff

Task Coach Portable is now packaged directly by Frank Niessink and Jerome Laheurte, the Task Coach developers. Please join me in thanking them for supporting PortableApps.com, the open standard in portable software! If you're so inclined, you can even make a small donation to them by clicking the button on the Task Coach Portable homepage.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Task Coach Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

I'd like to thank Patrick Patience for all his work in getting Task Coach Portable to this point. And I'd like to thank Frank Niessink and Jerome Laheurte, the main task coach developers, for taking over development of the portable package!

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

My thanks as well. I only use TaskCoach as a daily log of what I've been working on, but I love the program. And since our IT department won't let me install, a PortableApps version is a must. Thanks for the great program and a great new official format!

I'm sure you noticed that everything was great in their package however the binaries were not compressed. I don't know whether you're making that a defined part of the format, but I didn't see it within what you've written up.

It's recommended but not required. I'll give them some info on AppCompactor.

First of all thanks for realeasing this tool as a portable application. I am using TaskCoach daily to organize my work. It is really a great tool.

I have to use an application which does not install itself and does not write into the registry since this is not possible on our workplace computers.

After upgrading the protable app to the latest version 0.75 I get the feeling that it is (much) slower reacting (e.g. on mouse clicks as well as menu commands).

Kind regards, Mel

P.S. Sorry if I post my observation in the wrong place, if so please advice where to post such kind of questions.
