I'm embarassed to say that both this and the latest Iron Portable have empty folders. Can someone confirm this?

A similar thing had happened to me when I had downloaded a Chrome 10 (dev channel) sometime ago directly (= non-portable). That time, I just copied over the files present in my Firefox 3.5 dictionary folder (English US) and got things going but this time, the Firefox files don't seem to be doing the job even though I checked in chrome://settings/language that I have the same language setting and spell-checking enabled.

Chrome should automatically download new dictionaries (and probably Iron too).

Previously known as kAlug.

It's empty at first launch but dictionaries are downloaded when first needed... (with Iron too)

explain how to get the download?

If I type a wrongly spelled word in a text box, nothing happens even though the language is correct and spell-checking is ticked.

If needed, I don't mind downloading the file separately.

Thx once again.

The download is automatic, and starts once you type in a text field. It can take some time, though.
