It's released as freeware for personal and business use.

Their last download was 5.5.59.x. Their download now is 5.5.0.x. We just switch to match them.

Ah, I see. I note, however, that the "File Version" attribute in properties of the paf.exe refers to 5.5.59.124 so some small inconsistency has crept in.

That's the "PackageVersion" which must be greater than the last release's PackageVersion so that the updater knows to update. The PackageVersion is related to the DisplayVersion but often different for specific reasons. This is by design and can be ignored. I have no idea why Skype is playing musical version numbers, you'd have to ask them. We just work around it.
