µTorrent Portable 3.1 Build 26595 (uTorrent is a bittorrent client) ReleasedSubmitted by John T. Haller on December 14, 2011 - 2:03pm
Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform. Features
µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all. Various icon, toolbar graphic and status icon replacements are available, and creating your own is very simple. µTorrent also has support for localization, and with a language file present, will automatically switch to your system language. If your language isn't available, you can easily add your own, or edit other existing translations to improve them! PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com FormatµTorrent Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility. DownloadµTorrent Portable is available for immediate download from the µTorrent Portable homepage. Get it today! µTorrent is the world's most popular BitTorrent client. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.
won't start bug?
I plug my drive into a machine (at library) and start firefox then try to start uTorrent (this new 26595 build) and a popup says uTorrent is already running and should be closed first. A check on taskman or SIW says that it is not.
As a workaround I open the App directory on the flash drive and can run uTorrent directly; so it seems the launcher is not working.
could not see where else to post this.

Go to uTorrentPortable\Data
Go to uTorrentPortable\Data folder and delete the file named something like PortableApps.comLauncherRuntimeData-uTorrentPortable.ini.
Then you should be able to start it correctly again.
It's not a bug, its a feature.
Can't set download directory on portable drive
after update, uTorrent doesn't remember settings regarding "Put new downloads in:" while it's pointing to a different portable drive.
I've rolled back to previous version - everything's back to normal.
