logoSuperTuxKart Portable 0.7.3 has been released. SuperTuxKart is a Free 3d kart racing game. It's more about being fun than being realistic. You can play with up to 4 friends on one PC, racing against each other or just try to beat the computer. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotSee the great lighthouse or drive through the sand and visit the pyramids. Race under water or in space, watching the stars passing by. Have some rest under the palms on the beach (watching the other karts overtaking you :) ). But don't fall into the volcano. You can do a single race against other karts, compete in one of several Grand Prix, or try to beat the high score in time trials on your own.

The download size mentioned in the download button is wrong. It says 87MB but the current download is ~97MB. Also the installed size should be ~160MB now.

The app homepage and the app store have been updated. Apps don't usually change so much on a point release.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

STK increments minor version number for changes to game physics or their rendering engine (0.6, 0.7, 0.8...). A "point release" is for game changes with the current game physics and rendering engine (0.7.1, 0.7.2...). Basically, each point release adds new tracks, karts, introduces new features, improvements to the UI... Bug-fixes get a letter at the end of the version number. Hope it's clearer now.

The game is awesome by the way, and improving significantly with each release. Smile

My posts are old and likely no longer relevant.

SuperTuxKart [v.0.8 RC 1]

SuperTuxKart Portable [v.0.7.3]

I have tested Inside the portable structure, to include the SuperTuxKart [v.0.8 RC 1] Inside SuperTuxKart Portable [v.0.7.3] structure.

It will be easy to update from SuperTuxKart Portable [v.0.7.3] to SuperTuxKart Portable [v.0.8] = it have the same directory structure than SuperTuxKart v.0.7.3 ["installed" and "portable" version].

I know as I follow their blog too but thanks for letting us know.
