FreeMat Portable 4.2 has been released. FreeMat is a free environment for rapid engineering and scientific prototyping and data processing. It is similar to commercial systems such as MATLAB from Mathworks, and IDL from Research Systems, but is Open Source. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.
Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Patched Release, Delay
For the curious, the reason for the delay in the 4.2 portable release is that we were waiting for a patched release from the FreeMat team. The initial 4.2 release was incompatible with Windows XP. This patched 4.2 release works on Windows XP through Windows 8.
