LibreOffice Portable is a full-featured office suite -- including a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, drawing package and database -- packaged as a portable app, so you can take all your documents and office suite wherever you go. This release updates LibreOffice to the latest version. And it installs in as little as 250MB. The legacy 4.0.6 version is also available. You can also buy it on the PortableApps.com Carbide: The Safest, Most Secure USB Flash Drive on Earth. LibreOffice Portable is packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

That would be a broken MirrorBrain node on The Document Foundation's side. It happens with almost every release. So, we'll need to figure out which one you're on. When you download via the browser, what server does it say you're downloading from? Here, in Firefox, I get this box which shows me I'm downloading from mirror.clarkson.edu. What's yours? I'll report it

For now, you can download from a different mirror. You can see the mirrors for the normal download here and the all language download here.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I get this download box by using the Firefox browser.

But now I detect another bug in PicPick Portable v3.3.1. After installing this app in the PA.com menu it starts in english language though I use the german language in the PA.com menu. Did you have changed anything at the uploaded file PicPickPortable_3.3.1.paf.exe, which I have sent you? Because my uploaded version of PicPickPortable_3.3.1.paf.exe works correctly, during your offered version is wrong.

I made no changes to your package other than compiling the launcher and digitally signing it (note that I will only do this if you're not using the digitally signed launcher from the previously release). No changes to code or INIs.

Hello John and PortableApps.com,

I'm having trouble downloading LibreOffice Portable 4.2.1. The automatic download issue similar to the previous issues (mentioned in the other thread, where it downloads up to 30% of it, then loses the connection and starts over again until it times out) pops up again.

However, where I was able to download it via the mirror sites, I can't do that either. I tried the Indiana one that I've used before, along with the Clarkson and Nexcess mirror download links, and they don't work either.

With the Indiana one, at about 30% of the download, it freezes for a moment, and I get a message from Avast Web Shield that there could be a virus (telling me that it kept me from getting a virus). It then continues with the download, reportedly up to 100%. When it finishes with the download, Avast tells me that the file is not common and could harm my computer (previous LibreOffice version download didn't do this). I scan it with both Avast and Malware Antibytes, neither of which detect anything. I then attempt to install via the Install the App option on PortableApps, but it tells me that the file is corrupt, then gives some reasons why (such as the download wasn't completed, etc.). The file size appears to be about 120 MB (and it was reportedly supposed to be 119 MB), yet Windows reports the size to be only 117 MB, and it's done this each time I've downloaded it from this mirror site. As a result, it can't install the file, causing me to have to delete the file and try again, but to no avail.

With the Clarkson and Nexcess mirror sites (tried each of these twice), they both froze at 30%, causing Avast to warn me about the file, as it did above, then continues to download the file. At the 117 MB mark, about 98% of the file, the downloading ceases; even waiting 5 minutes later, the download counter doesn't move, just staying right at 117 MB, 98% of the file, to the point where I have to cancel the download and try again.

I'd appreciate any help and advice you can provide - thank you.

Take care,

Joe

For the LibreOfficePortable_4.2.1_MultilingualNormal.paf.exe I'm getting MD5: cfd59c8f1c4af23af2913c65546cf39b, instead of the posted: 82662e83a0cb967ce9fa66a370c32a81.

Because of the difference, I've downloaded the above file once more, and got the same results. By the way, size is different too, 119 MB instead of 123 MB.

So, the obvious question is, what really should I be getting?

Please report the false positive to Avast. They've been having problems lately but should resolve it in a few days once a few people report it to them.

Interestingly now that I tried to download it again I get another error (not from avast, but portable apps before the file even starts downloading):

"Download Error: SendRequest Error on file:"
.... with a refrence to the "paf.exe" file on portableapps.com

Generally that means you're blocked from downloading. SendRequest error means it couldn't open a connection. It could be a firewall (or software firewall/antivirus) on your end or an issue at the nearby mirror. Try getting it in a browser using the info above. LibreOffice isn't hosted by PortableApps.com, it's hosted by the publisher. And their MirrorBrain network is a bit problematic.

The MD5s were incorrect on the page and in the updater database. They have been fixed. So, auto-updates and app store installs should work again. Apologies for the mixup.

If you're unable to download from your default mirror, please follow the instructions above to let us know which mirrors are broken. We don't host LibreOffice Portable. It's hosted by The Document Foundation. And there are issues with their mirror network that we need to report to them.

Hello John,

For the first time in some time (the third or fourth time overall), I was able to install LibreOffice via the PortableApps.com built-in installer.

Besides the fact it finished the download with no trouble, it also seemed to keep a consistent download speed. I have a 3 MBps DSL connection - normally, the speed would continue to degrade down to about 45-50 Mbps at best.

This time around, it would get up to about 200-210 Mbps, then fall back a bit, but unlike previous times, it would start climbing again. It eventually settled about 170-180 Mbps until it finished the download.

Therefore, maybe I just got lucky with the download this time around, but if LibreOffice made some changes to their download path, I think it's working. If there is a way to let them know that any changes they've made seem to be working and the downloads are smoother and easier like the other apps (at least for me), it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Take care,

Joe

I have the same issue with Symantec. It deleted the files unopkg.bin and unopkg.exe.
I have also installed the fullversion of LibreOffice 4.2.1. and Symantec didn't reported anything. I have replaced both files in the portablapps version and it works just fine.
