When I open a pdf with the Dec 30th Fox-It-Reader update my work PC asks for an administrative access password. I click "No" or "X" to close and it opens the pdf with Fox-It-Reader anyway, regardless of how I open a pdf. I tried removing and replacing file associations. I tried scouring the Preferences for an obvious setting and found nothing. It never happened before and I've used your portable version on this PC a long time. This is a work PC so it could be a change done by admins here over the holiday. Fox-It must be asking for something I don't need it to do. It seems to want to add a plugin and a new non-PDF filetype everytime it opens even though I already have the PC associating PDFs to Foxit Reader.

Switching default to PDF Exchange Viewer is one solution. I am doing that for now.

I renamed the plugin "PlgDynLoader.fpi" in "...\PortableApps\PortableApps\FoxitReaderPortable\App\Foxit Reader\plugins\
and now Foxit starts without UAC again.

It works until the next UPDATE at least Wink

By the way there are multiple entries in my registry. I thought this would not happen with PortableApps.

I'll maintain this fix in the next release.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hi.

I downloaded and installed the Foxit Reader portable package.
I tried to change the language in the Preferences but didn't work.
I select File -> Preferences -> and I changed the language from English, appear a popup about Foxit update, but nothing happened. It's always in english.

All languages are already in the folder but the portable package is not able to change program language.

I tried to do the same with standard Foxit installer downloaded by Foixt web site. And it worked.

It means that it's a specific problem about Poratble package.

Switching languages in portable mode can only be done in conjunction with the PortableApps.com Platform. The installer requires admin rights to be able to change its language and sets it on the local machine, not within the portable version's settings.
