Profile folder

Hello all,

Sorry i'm new here so maybe this question is ask before. But i'm goingto ask it again.

I just download portable Firefox & Thunderbird. I'm going on a trip so i want to take my broser and emails with me. Since today i have webmail on TB so i can also get my hotmail mails in TB.

When i look at the information page of FF & TB portable then i read this:

for Firefox: Just copy the contents of that folder (except the cache directories) to the FirefoxPortable\Data\profile directory.

For Thunderbird: Just copy all of those files to the Data\profile.

But when i look in the *\Data folder i only see this folder: settings, not a folder named profile.

I only see a folder named profile in this folder: FirefoxPortable\App\DefaultData.

Where do i copy now my profile to?? And is it normal that it take more then 5min on Windows Vista to start up Portable Firefox & Thunderbird.

When i try to start it on my laptop i have to wait more then 5 minuts before i see any movement on my laptop. When i run it on a XP machine it wil run faster.

Thanks for any help and keep up this portable apps i love it.

Danny

hi

and welcom here Smile

The "profile" folder will be there if you run it once. But the better solution is to create it manually.

And no its not normal to take that long.
What usb drive do you have?
It might be a slower one but even with a slow drive 5 min are too long...
