Comments

I'm trying to assess how much "harm" is being done (in terms of reducing shelf-life) to my flash drive by using Portable Firefox. Obviously, or so I think, I should use the local version of Firefox (if it exists). Or is Portable Firefox "safe" enough (referring again to reducing shelf-life) to use whenever I'm away from my home computer?

Right now I only have cookies enabled and session restore active. I have 0MB for cache and it doesn't save the history, form data, or passwords.

I used Process Monitor to see how much saving was being done, and it seemed to be saving a lot of files, so wanted to ask others for their advice.

As always, please post support questions in the support forums and not as comments on a news story. That way everyone can see the question and others can easily find it later.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I think this question belongs here because it's not answered on the page itself.

Where does this get installed when run? The browser I'm using (3.0.3) is in the PortableApps directory under Firefox Portable.

Will this Beta overwrite that?

It will install to FirefoxPortableTest, as will all other application betas typically.

I don't know if this is a bug but each time I type in a URL address in the navigation toolbar, I get the following error message:

Consequently, the only way I can go to a particular website is to use my bookmarks or do a google search and use the link displayed. What gives?
