Hello Everyone, this is my first post so be nice!
Last Night I finished my coursework and I always work off my USB Portable HDD. After saving the documents, this morning I went to my college, plugged the drive in as usual and synchronised with toucan. In the log it shows all appears to be fine. It shops it has copied the files over and vice versa.
The problem I am having is that it has deleted these new files. When I went to search for them, it has deleted the whole folder containing word documents off the Portable HDD and the Drive I Sync'ed to.
Due to this all my coursework which was ment to be handed in today has disappeared and I no longer have a copy. I have tried searching the drive with file recovery software but the folder and files to not get retrieved, just every other file that I dont need. I can retrieve toucan.tmp files but I don't know what these are for and what they do.
Could some one contact me ASAP on this matter as it would be greatly appreciated.

far as I am aware Toucan cannot to anything that doesn't appear in the log, are you sure it wasn't something else that deleted them? Did you try searching the USB drive or the hard disk you were copying to? Also have you tried other file recovery software as different pieces ofter find different files?
Thanks for the reply, what else would of deleted them? On the process of the Sync all appeared fine then when I went to get them, they were both gone.
I have tried 3 different softwares :-
Data Doctor Recovery
Pandora Recovery
PC Inspector File Recovery
All the software are finding toucan.tmp files.
Can anything be recovered from these?
they are the files that are created when Toucan copies a file, it might be worth opening them in notepad to see what file they were and then renaming them to the original file extension and that might work.
