actually, another one of our moderators/developers is doing all of the OpenOffice.org projects. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Marko around the forums lately, so all of us are unsure.

Please let us know when to expect the release of OpenOffice Portable 3?
As with all other apps on this site, when they are ready and not a moment sooner. Might be tomorrow, might be next year. These developers are working on this for free and of their free time. Pushing will not make them work faster...

John and all the other devs are VERY busy people. It comes out when it comes out. Please don't request updates to current apps.

... unfortunately there was a change in the program structure from Beta2/RC2 to the final version.
Thats why it takes some more time.
This week we will have a pre-release of version 3.

It's not a question of being too busy, it's a question of priority.
John and all the other devs have the time to release updated apps promptly, but it's not their highest priority in life as they invest their time in other areas of their lives. People should appreciate and respect that.
Patience is a virtue. It's healthy for a person to be taught to wait and not always get everything when they demand it.
So the updates will be released whenever John and the other devs make it a priority, and not before.
Thanks John and all the other devs, we appreciate all your work and effort.
