load profile of an other device

hey there,

is there any option to load the mailprofile of thunderbird from an other device!?

(it works fine with miranda)

€d!t:

there is an option but didnt work with the platform!?

put the ThunderbirdPortable.ini in the folder where the ThunderbirdPortable.exe is and edit it like this:

AdditionalParameters=-profile "C:Path\to\your\profile"

then start the thunderbird.exe manualy - not the ThunderbirdPortable.exe
...

it does

using the ThunderbirdPortable.ini does work with the platform.

And it should work if you run ThunderbirdPortable.exe.

if you run thunderbird.exe manually, you'll loose portability and all the advantages which go with it. You're better off installing it in that case.

it just does

The launcher checks for an ini file in the same folder he is in. If he finds one, he uses it.If there is none, he uses the defaults.

So maybe you just have the syntax wrong or something.

Not Supported

Portable apps are designed to run from a single device and be portable between machines. So, drive letter specifications will not work.

[qoute] ...Portable apps are

[qoute] ...Portable apps are designed to run from a single device... [qoute]

why does it work with miranda!?

and why does it work if i start the thunderbird.exe (the thunderbird.exe that is in the folder \PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\App\Thunderbird)

it works fine but i want to run it from the menu of the platform thats my only problem...

must have something to do with the ThunderbirdPortable.exe !?

the ThunderbirdPortable.ini is in the same folder where the ThunderbirdPortable.exe is and is edited like this:

[ThunderbirdPortable]
ThunderbirdDirectory=App\thunderbird
ThunderbirdExecutable=thunderbird.exe
AdditionalParameters=-profile "C:\path\to\my\profile\"
GPGPathDirectory=App\gpg
ProfileDirectory=Data\profile
PluginsDirectory=Data\plugins
RegistryDirectory=Data\registry
SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
GPGHomeDirectory=Data\gpg
DisableSplashScreen=false
AllowMultipleInstances=false
DisableIntelligentStart=false
SkipCompregFix=false
RunLocally=false

# This INI file is an example only and is not used unless it is placed as described in the included readme.txt
