I got my USB flash drive four months ago and I'm been working successfully with it until now that my new laptop runs with Vista. The problem now is that when I try to open Mozilla Thunderbird for U3, I get the following message: "Thunderbird for U3 cannot be started. You may wish to reinstall to fix this issue. (ERROR: The program could not be found:\thunderbird\thunderbird.exe."
I've got stored hundreds of email stored on my flash drive and I don't want to loose all that information.
Please, if there is somebody who came across with this issue and know how to fix it, I would ask him for help. Thanks in advance.

Its not that easy to fix because some U3 sticks don't support Vista.
We stopped supporting U3 a while ago. But you can use the normal Thunderbird Portable. All your email are inside a hidden folder. Its named something like: ?:\System\Apps\3C9F7B3F-D55C-42cd-8537-B878518B73AF\Data
The exact number will be different so you need to dig around a little.
Next you install Thunderbird Portable from this site onto your drive. Then copy the Data folder you found inside ?:\System\Apps\\ into the ThunderbirdPortable folder and you should be ok.

Plus I read something just a month or 2 ago, that U3 itself
(sticks etc) are being discontinued I think at the end of this year
or early next.
So you won't even be able to buy them new in store.
John really should take out this section of the forums... for one thing we don't even have any U3 software here and second is what DADSGETNDOWN mentioned :S I don't see the point of continuing this section >_>

Keep it. People are still using U3 and so maybe one can convert a few U3 users to the new PortableApps.com Platform
