It says on their website that their product is portable. But my friends say that this isn't true. Does anyone know the true answer???

Well, It is in the sense that

Well, It is in the sense that it can save it's settings to a portable INI file... But that really doesn't help your links could possibly change computers or Drive letter... I haven't really tested it... But that's what there claim is...

Relative Paths

It supports relative paths, that's how I use it.

Hmm... Now I may have to try it out on my thumbdrive... Might be nice to add another launcher... for the programs that don't work well with portableapps... Smile

Ahh.

I have tried a product like this. It had a whole bunch of flash drives on the dock and was 'RocketDock' but portable. Turns out. I try it at school and my settings were not even there.

RocketDock can be made portable if you do something to the drive letter in the shortcuts. i forget.

Na na na, come on!

it is portable...

But in the icon settings make sure that the path is ..\appname\appnameportable.exe

and for Start in make it: ..\AppNamePortable

If the icon does not appear go to the Settings.ini file in the \RocketDock dir and change the the path in the settings.ini.
From this:
4-FileName=X:\Portableapps\AppnamePortable\AppnamePortable.exe?41844306

To:

4-FileName=..\AppnamePortable\AppnamePortable.exe?41844306

Just remember to rename the Appname to the app you want.

hope that helps
