Moving USB sticks

Hi,
I am shortly going to me moving from a 2gb Cruzer Titanium to an 8gb IronKey Personal, can I just drag my PortableApps stuff over to the new key or do I have to start again and re-install?

Thanks in advance :-0

Normally

You can move the Documents and PortableApps folders and your autorun.inf and StartPortableApps.exe files from the root of your current drive to any flash drive you'd like and it'll just work. I'd heard IronKey uses a proprietary launcher, though, so I'm not sure if it'll work with it.

Thanks John :-) I'm not too

Thanks John Smile
I'm not too fussed by the launcher as with my Cruzer I have to fire the PortableApps menu manually as the SanDisk U3 stuff always butts in first (I could never delete this).

I might post up my findings here about using the IronKey as it could be of interest to other forum members.

Regards,
Neill

...

U3 has a built-in uninstaller, and if that one doesn't work (or isn't there) you can download the uninstaller from U3's website. That's the first thing I do whenever I buy a new drive. Smile

again this would be

subjects for a sub forum dealing with technical things on sticks and other similar gadgets.
It was already suggested somewhere, would there be some ideas against such sub-forum?

No

This is not a hardware question. This is related to moving the PortableApps.com Platform from one drive to another. Which most definitely belongs in a forum called "PortableApps.com Platform"
