When I launch KeePass Portable from my USB drive, F-Secure notifies me that the program is trying to add a registry key.
Surely this is incorrect behaviour for a portable app?

Some applications create registry keys and we cant do anything about that because we only modify the base app if absolutely necessary.
Keepass is one of them.
The Launcher backs up your local keys, copies the keys from your portable version to your registry, runs the program, and cleans everything up to the state it was before.

I see, that is all good and well then
Elaborating on the matter though, wouldn't it, theoretically, be possible to have the launcher behave as a tiny sandbox, effectively catching and stopping all calls to the windows registry before they take place?
This would be useful for other software in the suite, too.
he launcher cold act like that, but I dont think its possible with the Application we use now to make launchers (NSIS) so it would be a lo of work...
