I just installed firefox 3.04. Before I could just copy my bookmarks.html to the /Data/profile directory and it would use that. Firefox 3 will not use this and I can not find any place where it is pulling the bookmarks from. I can import them and it will save them but I can't find any html file that it is pulling them from. I would like the ability to manually copy them again. Any help would be apprecitated!!!
Thank you,
Dan
I encountered the same problem. Looks to be an undocumented(?) change in Firefox itself. I would prefer to copy my bookmarks.html file from my Mac to my USB stick than to have to mess about with Import.
Since version 3 Firefox uses a sqlite database file to store bookmarks, cookies and such. Take a look here
The file is called places.sqlite and I doubt there is another way than to import them while firefox is running.

Thanks for to replies. Seems like a very annoying change. I like having more options than that.
I use this in config...
browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML
Bookmarks are exported to "bookmark.html" in the profile folder each time FF3 is shut down.
