Alright, I've finally given up finding an app simalar to Adobe Flash (not the player).
I've already got GIMP to replace Photoshop and KompoZer to replace Dreamweaver.
But the only thing that I still want from the Adobe Suite is Adobe Flash CS3.
Can somebody PLEASE create a launcher for this app?
Thanks.
It would be even better if somebody could find an OPEN SOURCE app to make animated .swf files (not videos like the ones camstudio can make).
Try Gnashhttp://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/self.path = path if self.path == None else self.path
Unfortunately there really is no software that is like Adobe Flash that can make swf files and we can't even make a launcher because of all the copyright stuff
iLike Macs, iPwn, However you put it... Apple is better ^_^
"Claiming that your operating system is the best in the world because more people use it is like saying McDonalds makes the best food in the world..."
http://www.liveswifers.org/
and it's open source but not portable. So can someone do it?
"We are an online community dedicated to those who want to explore the world of Flash without the cost."
That site doesn't look or sound very legal.
Flash cannot be made portable due to the fact it fiddles in an illegal way on the HDD as a copy protection.
If you want to make swf files check out FlexSDK from Adobe. they have 2 free versions, one of which only contains open source, the other includes some closed source stuff. Okay, FlexSDK is mainly a compiler and has no IDE like flash does, but I successfully build an SWF with it (using some open source Flash Pano viewer).
Another possibility is to check out interactive SVG format. Although not flash, and not widely supported.
adobe flash is a portable app

Welcome to PortableApps.com
If you would care to share with us where you downloaded a FREE, LEGAL, Portable version of Adobe Flash [maker] I'm sure we would be interested to know.
And remember, we are talking about the app which makes Flash, not plays it.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
Thanks for your opinion. Actually the 'it just works' theory doesn't mean it's portable according to our specifications. Stuff might be left behind on places that aren't obvious. (Please review the information on this website to familiarize yourself with our definition of 'portable').
Having said that, I'm pretty sure it is against the license from Adobe to produce a portable version of Flash. Any 'Portable' Flash found anywhere on the internet is most likely illegal (cracked / warez) software. Flash is only available from Adobe.
PortableApps will not make, link. condone or promote illegal software.
...they're talking about on their forum, but according to the very same forum, OpenSwif isn't even in development yet...
LiveSwif (more or less Flash 5/Actionscript 1.0) seems to be some sort of abandonware/freeware right now. But it's definitely not Open Source.
As it is avaliable for free right now, a launcher could be done, I suppose.
That would be great, don't know if providing a launcher is possible within portableapps.com
We can't even make just a launcher for it?
