Portable Safari?

Just for all those Mac lovers:
We need a portable Safari.
http://www.apple.com/products/safari
Then no one can complain about no cross-platform FF.
Anyone know how to do it, or if it needs to be done?

...

I don't believe there is a Wintel version of Safari. Also, isn't Safari loaded on every Mac in OSX anyways? Not dissing your idea but it would only run on Macs on OSX and it is already on every Mac already...

Not the point of portable apps.

I understand what you are saying, and AFAIK you are correct. The point of it would be to have all your info(bookmarks, passwords, browser settings, etc.) with you. Every Win PC has IE, doesn't mean you want to use it. And before anyone gets upset, I am not comparing Safari to IE...

my bad

I see what you are saying. My apologies to the original poster then. I got my hopes up when i first read into this thread and hoped that there was a non cocoa non carbon x86 capable version of the built in Mac browser. I have not actually used it but was hoping that I could. I looked at Apples web site and they have no x86 version that runs on Winblows. I step away from this and will watch where I comment with what and strive yet again to read things properly before posting.

Yeh

I think we all have probs with that Wink
That was exactly my point. We used to have some Macs at school, and people would change the settings everytime they logged on...
Don't know where they disappeared to...

Cross-Platform PFF

I don't know about a portable Safari, but a cross-platform PFF (Windows and Mac, no Linux, BSD, BeOS, etc.) does exist and is based at least in part on John's work...

I would love to see this pulled into the portableapps.com fold and worked on further by the folks here. I thought John had once posted about working to do just that but I haven't heard anything further...

(There's also a CPPTB @ http://www.theplaceforitall.com/portablethunderbird/)
